The viral monkey known as Punch quickly became an internet sensation…
but for me, it was something more than just another video.
Like many people, I was genuinely moved by his story.
There was something in his expression that stayed with me... a little mischievous, a little tender. I kept thinking:
I wish I could have one… something that reminds me of him.
That’s how this project started. I wanted to recreate him… for myself. And soon after, I decided to add his companion orangutan to make it feel complete.

From Emotion to Crochet Project
This wasn’t a planned product idea.
I simply wanted to recreate something I loved. Trying to translate a real and recognizable animal into crochet is not just about technique... it’s about capturing a feeling.
I focused on:

- the orangutan companion’s friendly look
- small details that make them instantly recognizable

The finished set is a small crochet plush duo, each piece approximately 3 x 4 inches.

About the Crochet Pattern
After finishing the plush, I realized other crochet lovers might want to recreate them too.
